A Political Map of the World and Countries
Lets learn about the World Political Map
The most crucial function of the political mapis to demonstrate territorial borders. Sometimes different colours can be used to represent different countries. This allows easier navigation to the countries you are interested in. In the past and occasionally in the present, countries controlled by a particular empire were all colored the same. Most famously the British Empire was colored Pink.
A political map will show the position of the approximately 200 independent nations from around the world. The borders will usually be prominently outlined and geographical features will be less heavily emphasized. Dependent territories as well as independent nations will usually be highlighted. Although this map does not show them show political maps will also have the capital cities marked to show where the seat of government is for that countries political system. The capital city is usually marked by a star with in a circle. It differs from a physical world map by some of the on map features. A physical map will show physical features like mountain ranges, rivers, valleys and oceans and seas. A political world map can incorporate some or none of these things. Other types of world maps to consider are climate maps and economic world maps.
